Swede cycling Amsterdam - Bilbao v35-39

Touring Holiday Stefan Bergman Free event Booking will be on Waiting List
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: 0

I'm a 28 years old Swede who will cycle and camp Amsterdam - Bilbao via Utrecht, Ghent, Brugges, the coastal routes of France (Velodyssey och Tour de Manche) and San Sebastian v35-39. A rough estimate of the distance would be at least 3100km.

I normally pace 80-120km / day and that will be my goal on this trip as well. This pace would leave some days to rest, to stay in some cities and unplanned stuff. My preferences for the trip are 70% / 30% experience and scenery vs cycling i.e I'm cycling for the experience not for the cycling in itself.

I love taking short detours just for the sake of the view and taking time to explore villages but at the same time I've no problem hammering in between the stops and the POI just to be able to spend more time enjoying the good stuff. It would be really fun having someone joining me for the whole or parts of the trip!

I'm easy going and have some sense of humor. I think as long as we share the same expectations for the trip we'll have a good time! I would prefer cycling with boy or girl in my age +/- 10 years. I'm cycling a cyclo cross with road tires and cleats. It would be preferable cycling with someone having a somewhat similar setup so that our pace matches (unless you're really strong cyclist).

If you're interested don't hesitate to send me a message and we'll see if our goals and expectations of such trip coincide.

Looking forward planning the trip with you!

Paris to Interlaken

Touring Holiday Arthur Silverman Free event
Booked: 1 | Free Seats: 3
Paris to Interlaken via Dijon and Bern. About 11 days. About 100km (63 miles) per day. I'm flexible on the itinerary. My thoughts are first to Fountainebleau then across Burgundy to Dijon via Sens, Auxerre, and Vezelay. Then Bescanson, Le Chaux-de-Fonds, Bern and Interlaken. This is Part 1 of three parts. I expect to take the train from Andrematt to Locarno. I'll post Part 2, Locarno to Zagreb, separately. I generally expect ot stay in hostels, AirBnB, and cheaper hotels. I like to eat in good, but not-too-expensive restaurants. I'm not a huge tourist, but all the towns mentioned above have at least a site or two worth looking at.

Locarno to Zagreb via Venice and Ljubljana

This tour is Part 2 of 3. This is a pretty standard bike tour. I don't know this territory too well, but I usually book a room a day or, at most two days, ahead. I like to eat pretty well. Not too picky about sleeping. I expect to cover about 100 km (63 miles) a day. I'm open on the exact route. I'd also like to see Verona and Trieste.

Chile - Careterra austral southern half

Touring Holiday Sandi Trillo Free event
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: 6

Hoping to ride southern half of the Careterra austral in Chile in December. Thinking of maybe ferrying from Puerto Montt (northern point of CA) to Aysen and then riding south from there .

Based on research this might require about 3 weeks on bike given some is unpaved roads/ripio meaning slow-ish cycling. I think this is about 600km.

My original trip partner recently got a job and can no longer go (unless the job doesn't last) and I think it would be more fun with others!

Will involve a combo of camping and roofed accommodation hostels, guest houses, due to distances between towns. Hoping to do some trekking after the ride from el chalten/ Fitzroy and then maybe some more in Torres del Paine.

I have 5 weeks off in total and would like to be riding by relatively early in December.

Lightweight Dec18-Jan19 in the sun

Touring Holiday Daniel Kazaniecki Free event
Booked: 1 | Free Seats: Unlimited

Hey guys, my name is Daniel, 36 year old. I love meeting and riding with like minded madmen around the globe!

How: Light! Just 5-6kg added onto a racing bike, because climbing is what I enjoy the most. (Meaning: because I'm a sissy cycling through developed countries only.)

When: 2-5 weeks roughly a year from today: between Dec 8, 2018 - Jan 17, 2019.

Where: That's the funny part. I'm simply sitting here freezing my ass off and promising myself that's my last winter in Europe. I could see myself getting easily talked into something as typical as the Pacific Coast Highway (LA-SF), or something as crazy as Auckland-Queenstown, flyover, continue Sydney-Kosciuszko-Melbourne. Or someplace completely different.
