DESCRIPTION: This ride originally started as a challenge cycle ride from St Malo to Paris in one go. I had been thinking about completing this ride for time now after reading about people riding London to Paris. I want to do something a little different, so came up with St Malo to Paris in one single ride. I also live in Jersey, which makes St Malo a perfect starting point. Unfortunately, I have had issues with getting a train back from Paris to St Malo with a bicycle!
So, not wanting to give up on a challenge ride, I decided to come up with a route of similar distance that would be a great challenge. The reason I want the challenge is to finally do a 200+ mile bicycle ride and because it will be great fun to do, especially the over night ride back to St Malo :-)
It is a fairly simple plan. Arrive in St Malo on the Sunday night and stay in a local hotel. Get up and start riding at around 10am. Roughly a 220 mile route, which will mean an over night ride! Aiming to arrive back in St Malo for 8/9am the next morning. Of course a coffee and pastry to celebrate! Would also like to stop at Mont St Michael for a couple of photos.
You will need some good lights for this, as a few hours will be riding in darkness.
No problem for people to ride part of this journey. Some company would be good, especially during the over night stage.
