Jutland from Aarhus

Hi, I'm planning to do some bike tours starting from Aarhus. My idea is to have a look around Jutland, islands and maybe Fyn.

My gear include handlebar and seat post bags, maybe backpack, with bivvy bag, sleeping bag and basic cooking. For overnight I'm looking at "shelter" app or "warmshowers". Around 50-100 km a day, but this could be variable depending on destination and necessities.

The candidate, if there will be any, should be: any sex, age and interests preferably, but not necessarily, close to mine. Similar fitness level of mine. Let's meet for some afternoon ride to know each other.

About me: My name is Giulio, male, 28 yo, from Italy, studying animal science at uni. Love riding and I'm trying to spend lots of time on it. Enjoy being out and in the nature, explore, also reading, movies, music and guitar are on my hobby list.

Hi all, I intend to ride from Nottingham to Cape Town via Portsmouth and Le Harve and then down through France, Andorra, Spain and over to Morocco and then down the west coast of Africa.

I love riding my bike and going to new places and experiencing different cultures and would like to meet like minded people along the way. My kit is ready and my bike just needs a Dyno-Hub adding.

I am a 53 year old man with a young outlook. I have a lot of travel experience. I intend to write a blog and raise money for a Cancer Charity. Please contact me if you interested in joining me on any part of this journey ( or even all of it).

South America 2018-2020

I left home in the UK 2 years ago and cycled through Europe and Africa, sailed across the Atlantic ocean and am now discovering South America. I'm currently in Manaus, in Northern Brazil with no definite end in sight. I will spend about another year in South America, maybe more, riding mountain and dirt roads mostly. I am heading south west-ish to Cusco in Peru from here, visiting Macchu Pichu and then south through the Andes. I have chosen some routes from bikepacking.com and andesbybike.com although these can be modified along the way depending on the road and weather.

I prefer to camp and cook my food but also use roadside eateries and sometimes hotels etc. I have a fairly lightweight setup, but due to the length of the trip I also like to carry a few extras for entertainment.

I enjoy riding with others but also happy on my own. I am young for my age, enjoy reading, music and being outdoors. I have a true British sense of humour and a belief in human nature.

Do you want to ride in South America? Drop me a line. Company is always welcome.

Cycle touring across all continents

For a number of years now I have contemplated the idea of cycling around the world. I kept putting it off for this or that reason; not enough money, too much planning, logistical hindrances, a delay in future career choices, and so on. Then I realised that there’s another way. One, that is called social cycling. The core concept is the same, cycling across all continents of the world, but with some modifications. I would try to achieve this goal by relying on the support of hundreds or even thousands of people. Because there’s power in unity. And involving as many people in this endeavour and presenting it as a common achievement comes almost as an equal reward for everyone. Wherever you cycle, especially in the developed areas of the world, there are cycle clubs and fellow cycling enthusiasts. Many people would be willing to cycle a leg or two of a great journey. A series of micro adventures would constitute one truly grand adventure (I’m quoting Alastair Humphreys here somewhat).

Working on the details of such a trip seems extremely overwhelming. But then again, there are always people who are willing to help with something, fundraising, sponsorship, organising logistical details, networking, updating social media platforms, outreach ,media, filming, photography, creative writing, etcetera. People from various corporate backgrounds would want to do a leg or two to promote their companies. As far as I’m aware and correct me if I’m wrong, something like this hasn’t been attempted before. So some adventurous and committed people could step forward and go all the way; this would constitute the core group of cycle tourers. Those willing to cycle for the various legs of the journey can fundraise for various causes and organisations, or just do it for fun. Those who don’t feel like cycling but still want to get involved could offer their professional support. Besides the primary goal that is a grand around the world cycle journey, there’s also a secondary objective. That is visiting undeveloped and impoverished areas of the world and raising funds to support and encourage schoolchildren to cycle. This would require donations, and what better donation is there than a brand new or even a second hand bicycle! And what better reward there is then to see a group of smiling children cycling together. (Cycling and social inclusion) I consider this cycle journey as a catalyst for a larger movement promoting health, travel and the involvement of local cultures. So everyone out there who’s a keen cyclist, please help me with your ideas, advice, thought processes. Challenge my idea from left and right. But remember, that the emphasis is not on the problem, it’s on the solution. Suggestions for names for this project are very welcome. An online platform is necessary, and so is a rock solid website (these will follow soon after most ideas are thoroughly hammered out). I have also considered a trial run, where a group of like minded individuals would popularise the concept by say cycling from London to Paris on a weekend.

Cartagena to Tierra del Fuego

Looking for a companion for an epic tour of South America, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina and finally Tierra del Fuego.

I am bi-literate in Spanish, speak, read, and write. I have years of experience living overseas, but have never toured on a bike. However, I have years of biking experience; mountain biking, road, and commuting. I have intermediate mechanical abilities as well.

I plan on documenting the trip with photos and video. I plan on a mix of camping, airbnb, and motels.

Would be great to find people to join me on this epic adventure.   Please get in contact!

Tuesday, 15. January 2019 until Wednesday, 29. May 2019 09:00 - 19:00 (GMT +00:00)

Alexandria (Egypt) - Adis abeba (Ethiopia) Following the nile +-80km a day

I have experience in long adventurous journeys and would love to do another one in Africa following the Nile to the land of punt.

I always aim for about 10 Euros a day even when this is a lot in poorer countries. Just more money to spend on local food and an occasional hotel.

Looking for someone with a level of chill that is required in Africa. Really don't care about gender or age or even if you are out of shape. After one week or 1.5 weeks you'll be in shape!

I like camping, so bring a tent off course!  Even open for novice or new riders or people who have never been in Africa before. You just need chill, because things will go weird in Africa. Really just want to share the beauty in this world and not be alone in my experience.

Southern Africa

Hello, I'm thinking of cycling around Southern Africa from Joburg up into Botswana, possibly dipping into Zimbabwe, up to Zambia and then Namibia. The route is still quite flexible but there are the countries I'm most keen to re-visit. I've been 3 years ago and wanted to go back ever since. I'm hoping to find likeminded, adventurous and easy-going people who are also big Africa lovers and keen to join. I'd prefer to cycle with someone as it's more fun also, safety in numbers :) I wanna camp, use Warmshowers or Couchsurfing. I would be keen to start mid February. So if there are other people around with time to spare and keen to have an adventure, please get in touch.

Cuba

I'm a 63 year old retired Australian lawyer from Sydney, planning to go cycling in Havana, Cuba!

Haven't worked out the exact route, but thinking of a variant of this https://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?o=1mr&page_id=398838&v=HX  (without the bits requiring a tent). I plan to stay in casa particulares.

I will ride between 50 and 100 km per day and don't average more than about 15km per hour.

Don't care about your sexuality, gender or age, but would prefer someone over 30.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Cross Country Bike Trip

Hello, I'm currently a sophomore at Virginia Tech. I'm taking the spring semester off from school to work, plan, and build/rebuild my bike for the trip. I am open to different routes across the country and mileage per day. I am planning to leave early April and finish early/mid-June. I am looking for a partner or group to ride with. I will be camping most of the way and will carry cooking supplies. Ideally I would like to ride the TransAmerica Trail (east to west) and average around 75 miles per day. Feel free to contact me.

Ride Across the Australian Outback

I am riding across the Outback, starting in Perth, going to Yulara (Uluru) and up Alice Springs. Then I head down to Lake Eyre by way of the Oodnadatta Track, looping around it and up to Boulia by way of the Birdsville Track. Then I head over to Townsville on the East Coast, where I head down to Brisbane, and ending up in Sydney. It's a slow ride of approximately 850-1000 miles a month to enjoy the scenery. The route is here: https://vuongs.net/final-route-set/ The route is divided into ten legs, and I indicate the month where I might be traveling each leg. Anyone is welcome to join me in any of the legs.

Cycling from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan

I'm a 42 year old guy from Poland. For a few years I cycle in Europe. Now I wanted to do more. My destination is Central Asia, for a few months at least. I've a plan to start in Georgia in May, then Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan. For now, this is a general concept, it depends if someone will want to cycle with me. In previous trips, I did about 100 km a day. I prefer sleeping in a tent, out of the beaten track. Look forward hearing from you!

Portland to San Fran

I am looking to cycle between Portland and San Francisco in May. I'd like to take around 12 days to complete the trip and would love some company. I can be flexible with the dates, give or take a few days. I thought I would find out if anyone would be interested in joining me first before plotting out the route.

Summer with tall blond people

Tourists like myself to the EU area have 90 days inside; I plan to start in Brussels in May. The tour will visit Northern Germany, Netherlands and Denmark on the way to the Sweden, then onto the Norway coast. Then we head north along the coast, hopefully to swim in the Arctic ocean on the summer solstice!  Then head east (before 90 days) to the border with Russia and south to St. Petersberg.

This will be a happy fun ride, with no rushing as a default mode of travel. Days off when ever fun things offer.

Mostly camping with bits of Warmshowers, Couch Surfing, hostels, or what ever else seems like a good idea.

Companions should be able to support themselves, have similar distance for daily mileage in mind.

All religions, orientations, and other defining human characteristics are welcome.

People who subscribe to forms of organized shunning of humans are not welcome on this adventure; please make other arrangements!

Bike Across America 2019 - A heavily modified Northern Tier route

A 4,600 mile, coast to coast bike tour starting in Glen Rock, New Jersey, USA and ending west of Olympic National Park. Averaging 40-70 miles a day with generally 1 rest day a week (depending on terrain) and a very heavy reliance on campgrounds, stealth camping, and Warmshowers hosts for sleeping accommodations. The tour will wind its way through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world including but not limited to: Niagara Falls National Park, Badlands National Park, Black Hills National Forest (Mt. Rushmore & Devil's Tower), Yellowstone National Park, Bighorn National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Glacier National Park, Northern Cascades National Park, etc. Full route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16408165. Paris - Marseille with some detours

Hey cyclists and bike tourers!

I am a 20-year old NYC-based student/explorer looking to discover spots away from my bedroom and my kitchen.

I'm planning to do a 2100km (1360 Miles) journey from Paris to Marseille, passing by Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. I've traveled quite a lot in the past, but I recently discovered that Biking is the way to go, at least for myself. I'm not an cycling expert per se, and this is going to be my first "big" trip (hopefully not the last one neither...), but I'm extremely motivated to do this!

I've already prepared a route that I'll link under this post for those who are curious among you; it's still under preparation and I often edit parts of it, but on the overall look, that's what I'm searching for in terms of distance and countries to visit throughout the trip.

Unfortunately, and because of my studying schedule, my dates are not very flexible, but I'll do my best to meet you somewhere on the road if you want to be part of some of my journey, or you can just join me for the whole thing, from A to Z, your call.

If you wanna have fun, eat crappy food, see amazing landscapes, and sleep under a tent for most of your days with me, contact me to sort out arrangements.

NB: I speak Arabic, French, English, and Spanish if you're ever worrying about the language barrier.

Cycle Across America - LA to NY

I will be following Route 66 using cycling maps to Chicago, and then following another route to New York. I've been bicycle touring since 2008 and consider myself quite experienced conducting a tour. With this time frame, it will be manageable to stop off and see places on the way, taking days off here and there. I like to enjoy the ride so I am not into speed contests, but cycling at a comfortable pace with a view to seeing the scenery and meeting people along the way. I will be mainly camping - stealth camping mostly - and I will likely try warmshowers and couchsurfing, and hostels in cities. I would consider up to 4 in a group (presuming others want to come along). I think 3-4 in total would be ideal because while I like the solitude of cycling, having others to chat with would add to the experience. Things I can offer prospective fellow cyclists, apart from easy-going Irish charm: I will have a detailed route on maps, backed up with offline gps maps, so navigation won't be an issue; I can give you advice - if required - with packing your kit so as to be efficient;  I will have a solar panel for charging up mobiles; wide and varied conversation; and good background and experience in bicycle touring. I aim to cycle between 50 and 100km each day, depending on circumstances, like terrain, sightseeing, etc.
