Around The World Slowly

A meandering route spanning all continents. I have two options for the first leg. A. is to head to the Nord Capp and then south via West Africa to Cape Town i.e. Capp to Cape or B. to head west from the UK through Europe, Asia (Pamir Highway)...Then on to the Americas! I will wild camp most of the way and won't be afraid to stop in idyllic locations. The journey is all important, not the daily mileage. I'd love to find a travel companion so do please get in touch if this sounds like your bag Best wishes for your own amazing adventure! Darren

Ireland in 2022

I'm returning to Ireland in 2022 to enjoy the best cycle touring in Europe along the western coastlines, outlying islands, and Northern Ireland and wish to share the adventure with one other sociable, M/F over 35. Fly to Shannon. Three to four weeks. B&Bs, 40-60 miles a day. Light, daily rain, cool temps. Little sun. Prehistoric settlements, lots of stone walls, conviviality, Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) regions. A ride on the "Happy Hooker" plus a ferry to Skellig Michael or Inishturk (Clare Island). An extensive network of quiet back roads, rolling hills, stunning mountain passes, beautiful greenery, lovely towns and villages, the world's friendliest people, and finger-tapping trad music in the pubs at night make Ireland ideal for bike touring. The dates are approximate. In reply, tell me what about this trip appeals to you and a litle about your cycle touring experinece.

Canada to Chile 2022

Looking for one or more companions to join me for a trip from northern Canada down to southern Chile starting in the north in May 2022. Looking to spend approximately one year on the trip, so not open to doing all kinds of detours, but no need to go blazing fast either. To do some stretches efficiently while going slower in more scenic/interesting areas is probably the way to go :) My experience with bike touring is doing my homecountry of Norway from north to south a couple of years ago, but not much apart from that. I'm 26 years old and are preferrably looking for someone around my age, give or take some years. Being company for the whole trip or just parts of it are both of interest. Don't hestitate to get in touch if this sounds interesting or if you want more info about me/the trip! :) Cheers, Oyvind Hanes

Berlin to Singapore

Hey guys! I'm planning on cycling from Europe to Singapore. I am currently based in Berlin so i would like to start from here but i'm flexible if someone has other ideas. I have done a couple of bike tours before so I do have experience but not at this distance. I plan on camping the majority of the time but also using warmshowers and hostels from time to time. I'm an easy going guy with no real plans....i'm happy to talk with someone and plan it together. I can ride 100 km a day but also willing to do less or more depending on the partner. If this sounds interesting to you send me a message and we can talk further.

The Big Kahuna

Hey everyone! I've been dreaming of a transcontinental adventure for a while now, so much so that it's almost become an obsession. I've done a few multi-week tours around Europe and think I'm ready to take on something a bit more epic.

About the trip:

My plan is to set sail from Europe in the Spring of 2022, just as the weather is getting better. Hopefully, covid restrictions will be a thing of the past by then. I'll head towards Istanbul where a decision will need to be made. In an ideal world, I'll continue east, through the mountains of Georgia, the deserts of Iran (maybe), the Stans, India/China, ending on a white sand beach in SE Asia. But if covid continues to disrupt just about everything, I'll head for Cairo, and attempt to cycle to Cape Town, along the East coast of Africa. I'm assuming that things will have improved significantly by then but in any case, I figure the borders and bureaucracy of African countries will be easier to navigate, compared to that of central Asian countries. Along the way, I'll wild camp mostly, along with warm showers

About me:

I'm 27 and from Ireland. I've been living in Brussels for the last 18 months and plan to leave here. I'm a cycling addict, who likes meeting new people. I love wild camping but you also just can't beat a hotel room when you really need it. I'm an easy-going guy and would love to find a companion for this most epic of adventures. Always happy to chat with a touring enthusiast so give me a shout if you'd be interested in joining The Big Kahuna. Cheers, Jack

Long Distance Touring Adventure!

Hi guys! My name is Joe, and I have long been dreaming about setting off on an epic long-distance bike tour spanning multiple countries/continents - I have been working in a finance job in London for a few years but looking for a new adventure I dont have a fixed itinerary as I love the flexibility that cycle touring offers - but my general idea is to start in London, going south-east through Europe, into Turkey, the Caucasus, the Stans ( via the Pamir Highway)...thereafter let's see! If I am still going Japan, NZD followed by Alaska>Patagonia would be the dream. Predominantly wild camping most of the way but also stay in hostels, warmshowers etc when we want Ideally I am looking for a partner in crime to join me on an adventure of a lifetime. If this sounds like your idea of fun dont hesitate to get in touch! Joe Edit: Due to Coronavirus, I am now thinking to delay this trip to the middle of next year. Exact dates tbc, but just waiting for the travel restrictions to ease and hopefully people to be more welcoming to cyclists!

Chill Coastal Tour from Portland to San Francisco

I'm a 22 year old guy about to graduate from college. I've got some time between graduating and starting work and want to get into touring. I'm new to touring but I want to do my first trip along the pacific coast from Portland to San Francisco. I'm in good shape and work out and bike regularly so I was thinking of doing 50 miles a day or 40 if it's hilly. I'm in no rush to get to San Francisco and I'm happy to meander and do fewer miles per day if it means exploring cool places or doing something interesting. For sleeping, I was planning on mostly camping out with occasional motels/hostels mixed in. If you'd be interested in doing this trip with me (or something like it, I'm not totally set on all the details) please reach out! I'd love to meet you!

Looking to most likely do warm showers, Airbnb, and a motel with a few nights of camping. Early in the planning stages and open to suggestions! I'm thinking of starting from Sierra Nevada / Cascade rage / Yellow stone / Zion / Olympic national park - open to suggestions.

Cross Country Tour Mostly on the Transamerica Route

I will be following the Adventure Cycling Association's western express route and transitioning onto the Transamerica trail. I am expecting ~85 miles a day with a rest day every 10 or so days. I don't have a ton of touring experience, but I can handle myself. I am currently 17, but will be 18 by the time of the ride. I do have a place I need to be by the end, so I wont be able to go slower than 85 miles a day. Also, I am planning on mostly camping and staying at hotels/motels occasionally. (I am male btw). I would be happy to call If you are interested, -Oscar

Across Russia May-Oct 2021

Six months to pedal and absorb the landscape, history, and culture of Russia. About 11,000 km in 184 days - split equally between pedalling and absorbing. For example, 3 days of cycling (120 km each) offset by a 3-day stop in fabulous places like Kaliningrad, Riga, Talinn, St. Pertersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Khabarovsk, and Vladivostok. Click here for proposed route(link is external). We'll try to maximise local contact by finding people who can accomodate us for a fee. If that's not possible, then Warmshowers, hotels, or camping - in that order. This may not be a budget cyclist's idea of touring, but then this isn't about ticking off an item on some bloody list. It's about exploring a glorious land and experiencing its varied peoples. Wild camping alone does not accopmplish that. I'm flexible on route and happy to subsidise costs for like-minded eager cyclists - with no obligation because this is an epic tour and companionship itself is priceless. Two of us would be better, three ideal.

Dartmoor Way

This ride has been on my list for a long time, despite living so close to Dartmoor - it is easy to forget all the great touring opportunities in your own back yard! Dartmoor is a wonderful place to visit, especially by bicycle. It will be quite tough on some of the hills, but I guarantee the views will be worth it :-) I plan to follow the Dartmoor Way cycle route - http://www.dartmoorway.co.uk/home.php over a weekend. It is a 100 miles ish route across the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. There are a couple of options on the route - very flexible on this. Sleeping wise I would prefer to camp if the weather is okay. Failing that, jump into a hostel, B & B or similar. Give me a shout if you are interested. Obviously with Covid, I'll change dates if required. Fingers crossed all good :-)

I began travelling by bicycle on June 2020 and hope that any route I will follow will eventually bring me to the Philippines :-) I am currently thinking of going to Kenya in January 2021 down to Maputo, Mozambique, but I would absolutely prefer to live an amazing adventure like this with another buddy, so feel free to reach out if you're interested (or even if you want me to come to you, I still think every road will bring me to the Philippines ahaha!) Around The World (From the UK)

Hi, Im a pretty novice when it comes to bikepacking but I'm not novice when it comes to bikes, I have years of experience on a bike including racing and doing big distance. I said that if things ever went south in my life I would pack all my stuff up and go bike packing around the world and I'm sticking true to that word. and I'm looking for someone to join me on that journey so its not to solum. I have a route planned for the wold thing, 3000 km of it I had to go by hand using maps and google map satellite because china is a minefield. I have travelled the world backpacking and lived all over the southern hemisphere so I'm pretty accustomed to how things work in other countries. The only thing I don't have yet is a date. The plan would be to camp, use warmshowers.org and a hostel or hotel (whatever is preferred every now and then) just to have that bit of luxury. If anyone would like to join me, help me adjust the plan and have an awesome experience that would be great, get in touch and let's see if we meld. Look forward to hearing from you. Julian

Caution To The Wind

I have absolutely no idea how I am going to do this, but I have this mad idea that just like a lot of people have already, I can travel the world on a bicycle. I want to do a Northern Hemisphere trip starting in England, that spans across Europe, Asia, North America/Canada and back (not necessarily in that order).

Any advice and any person who wants to be part of this is more than welcome. As a novice to all of this I could really do with as much help as possible and despite my stubbornness when it comes to believing I can do it all on my own, in my experience of traveling thus far, its something that should be shared.

Please feel free to contact me regarding it.

Saturday, 01. August 2020 until Sunday, 30. May 2021 (GMT +01:00)

World Tour

I would like to first cross Canada, west to east. Then tour down through the eastern parts of the United States, or cross over through the central states to reach the west coast again. Then into Mexico and make my way to South America. Then down the west coat of South America as far south as is reasonably possible. Then back up the eastern part of South America. Then fly to either Africa or Europe. I' would like to spend time in both places depending on what is safe. Then through the Mongolian steppes. Into Asia. Then Australia and New Zealand.

Cycle around the world

Hello - I have been on the road since February, and am now cycling in Benin. I'm heading to South Africa, then to Middle East, Asia, Oceania, South America, North America and back to Europe. I will try not to fly and would rather take a boat. Will you join me on my epic cycling adventure? Maybe just for a few weeks or months? Please get in touch if interested.
