North Italy in July

Touring Holiday Michael Alexander Free event
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: Unlimited

I'm going to cycle around northern Italy for 3-4 weeks. Probably starting in Varese where I have an old friend. After that, no route planned yet - I'm open to suggestions!

In my previous trips (Portugal, Pyrenees, north Greece), I usually cycled 50-70 km a day, stopping every couple of days in some nice town or village to enjoy the nature, history, culture and of course food!  Most of all I hope to know the local people by riding with local cyclists and staying with local hosts (Warmshowers, Couchsurfing). Otherwise, hostels. I'll bring a sleeping bag just in case, but don't plan to camp outside.

I've cycled with others before (usually Warmshowers hosts or guests) and hope to do it again this time.

Biking on Bali (or optional Greek islands, Sicily) - for 1 month, July till mid August

Touring Holiday Katja Lovesbike Free event
Booked: 2 | Free Seats: Unlimited

Dear bike friends, this year I would like to visit Bali with my bike and I don't want to do it alone. I admit I'm afraid to travel alone, but also I think that in a good company it is nicer and easier.

I don't have so many experiences so far, only 3 weeks riding in Sri Lanka, but I am flexible and adaptable and riding Sri Lanka was not a problem for me. If not Bali It would be nice also to bike on Greek islands or Sicily.

Start would be in July and finish in mid August. What I like is to enjoy while I travel, to join leisure and recreation, I prefer to see rather than to rush all the time and not have time to enjoy all the beauty.

I am a calm person, flexible to some point, communication is important to me and also to make compromises. I am looking for join me with similar goals and the style of traveling.

I would like to meet you, talk on Skype (or other way) so that we can both see if we are compatible enough to do a trip together :)  There could also be more companions. You can contact me by joining this tour.

I am looking forward to make one great trip together :)

Destination Isle of Skye

Touring Holiday Tom Herdman Free event

Hi, I am planning a solo cycle trip but thought it might be fun to see if any one else would be interested in tagging along. I plan on cycling at least 60 miles or as many as 100 miles a day. I am wild camping and cooking along the way. I have my bob yak trailer along with one man tent, sleeping bag, trangia meth stove, water filter, solar panels and battery pack. I also plan on some light foraging around any suitable locations. So far i have planned my route through the lake district, north up Dumfries and eventually getting the ferry at gourock. Then i'm playing it by ear.

Male of female, doesn't matter, but I'm not looking for romance, at all! the length of the tour is approximately 1300 kms. To keep it low budget, I'll be stopping at campsites and eating food from supermarkets.

North Queensland 700km loop

Touring Holiday Johnny Gallavin Free event
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: Unlimited

I am planning on doing a loop starting in Cairns riding up through to Cooktown and then inland a little and back down to Cairns.

I am intending on about 10 ridding days and staying at a mix of camping and maybe the odd backpackers. I would love some company along the way from anybody, doesn't matter about age as long as you enjoy cycling and having a few laughs along the way.

The Hebridean Way

Touring Holiday Jon Howard Free event
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: Unlimited

For those short of time for a long cycle tour, would you be interested in joining 2 cycling buddies, Jon and Megan, to cycle the 185 mile Hebridean Way that runs the length of the Outer Hebrides. Take a look at Mark Beaumont's cycle of it if wondering what its like. https://www.calmac.co.uk/article/4556/Hebridean-Way-Cycle-Challenge.

Plan to take 4 days going from southern tip to northern and camping along the way. The route isn't especially hilly but can be quite windy. But the stunning scenery and wildlife and the remote way of life should make for a great experience.

Paris to Interlaken

Touring Holiday Arthur Silverman Free event
Booked: 0 | Free Seats: 4
Paris to Interlaken via Dijon and Bern. About 11 days. About 100km (63 miles) per day. I'm flexible on the itinerary. My thoughts are first to Fountainebleau then across Burgundy to Dijon via Sens, Auxerre, and Vezelay. Then Bescanson, Le Chaux-de-Fonds, Bern and Interlaken. This is Part 1 of three parts. I expect to take the train from Andrematt to Locarno. I'll post Part 2, Locarno to Zagreb, separately. I generally expect ot stay in hostels, AirBnB, and cheaper hotels. I like to eat in good, but not-too-expensive restaurants. I'm not a huge tourist, but all the towns mentioned above have at least a site or two worth looking at.

Not too picky about sleeping. I expect to cover about 100 km (63 miles) a day. I'm open on the exact route. I'd also like to see Verona and Trieste.

Lightweight Dec18-Jan19 in the sun

Touring Holiday Daniel Kazaniecki Free event
Booked: 1 | Free Seats: Unlimited

Hey guys, my name is Daniel, 36 year old. I love meeting and riding with like minded madmen around the globe!

How: Light! Just 5-6kg added onto a racing bike, because climbing is what I enjoy the most. (Meaning: because I'm a sissy cycling through developed countries only.)

When: 2-5 weeks roughly a year from today: between Dec 8, 2018 - Jan 17, 2019.

Where: That's the funny part. I'm simply sitting here freezing my ass off and promising myself that's my last winter in Europe. I could see myself getting easily talked into something as typical as the Pacific Coast Highway (LA-SF), or something as crazy as Auckland-Queenstown, flyover, continue Sydney-Kosciuszko-Melbourne. Or someplace completely different.
