Anyone do any training before going away on tour? I'm looking at doing the LEJOG route in the spring and was thinking if I need to up my miles. I currently just commute to work (6 miles each way) and try to get a few 20-40 miles rides in each week.
Depends on how long you plan to take? If in no hurry and will take 2-3 weeks, you should be fine. Take each day as it comes, your fitness will improve day by day. Anything faster, then get some more miles in.
Don't forget to eat well too. And finally, enjoy! LEJOG is a great acheivement.
